SPORTIME PICKLEBALL’S YORKTOWN HEIGHTS AND WAYNE LOCATIONS CELEBRATE FIRST-YEAR ANNIVERSARIES
Anniversary Celebrations Highlight Thriving Pickleball Communities and Continued Commitment to Programming for Players of All Ages and Levels
New York, New York — [October 21, 2026] — SPORTIME Pickleball, a division of SPORTIME Clubs, and the Tri-State area's fastest-growing, most innovative, pickleball club operator, recently celebrated the first anniversaries of SPORTIME Pickleball Yorktown and SPORTIME Pickleball Wayne. Both clubs marked this milestone with special events that brought together members, players, guests, families, staff and local community leaders to celebrate a successful first year.
“Each location was packed with children, adults, families and friends, who were there to support and celebrate with us,” said Joe Siegel, Senior Managing Director of SPORTIME Pickleball. “Over the past year, our teams in Yorktown and Wayne have worked incredibly hard to create welcoming and engaging environments, where players of all ages and abilities want to spend time. Seeing the turnout and enthusiasm at these celebrations made us feel very good about what we have built.”
He continued. “There’s no secret recipe to building pickleball communities. It happens one player at a time, at every open play, clinic and event; we do this work every day at all our pickleball locations. We’ve built loyal, thriving communities, with many members who come to learn and play two, three or even more times each week.”
Lively Anniversary Celebrations
SPORTIME Pickleball Wayne marked its anniversary with social open play, refreshments, and music. “We were packed!” said Rebecca Ryan, Wayne’s General Manager and Director of Pickleball. “The day was filled with camaraderie and fun. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our first year.”
In Yorktown Heights, members enjoyed an action-packed day, including open play, a friendly competition with another local pickleball club, and an evening anniversary party featuring music, raffles, and additional open play. “We couldn’t be happier with the great turnout and we were especially delighted that Town Councilman and Deputy Supervisor Sergio Esposito made a special visit to join in the celebration,” said Marni Rose, General Manager of SPORTIME Pickleball Yorktown Heights. “Supervisor Esposito surprised us with a certificate of recognition honoring our one-year anniversary.”
Growing the Next Generation
“From the beginning, our vision for SPORTIME Pickleball has been about much more than building great facilities,“ said Claude Okin, President and CEO of SPORTIME Clubs. “ We want to create places where people feel welcome, build friendships, stay active and become part of a community. In just one year, both Yorktown and Wayne have done exactly that. It’s a credit to the outstanding teams at both clubs, who bring that vision to life every day.”
A key component of that effort is SPORTIME’s Junior Team Pickleball (JTP) program, which introduces young players to the sport through structured instruction, team-based training and competitive opportunities. More than 150 children currently participate in weekly JTP training and team competition across SPORTIME Pickleball locations.
“Junior development is an important part of our long-term vision for SPORTIME Pickleball,” said Siegel. “We want to introduce more children and families to pickleball, create opportunities for young players to develop and compete, and build a pipeline of players who will play the sport for years to come.”
Additional plans include intensified focus on level-rated open plays, which allow equally skilled players to compete, and Pickleball 101, a reasonably priced 4-week beginner program. “Our facilities are best-in-class, and our programs are the finest in the industry,” said Siegel. “The future looks exceedingly bright for Yorktown and Wayne, as it does for all of our clubs.”
